The float planes landed on a small lake. We then took a brief helicopter ride over a ridge and down to the river's bank. We started on the Sutlahine, a tributary of the Inklin. The Inklin merges with the Nakina to form the Taku. This picture is of the country surrounding the upper Sutlahine just before shoving the rafts off to start the trip. It is moderately dry interior country dominated by spruce and aspen. It is part of Canada's boreal forest.
