INDEX / NEXT The Enchanted Valley Chalet. This served as a hotel for trekkers after completion in the 1930s. The park service purchased the property when it established the national park. The chalet fell into disrepair for some time until residents in the nearby community pitched in to renovate the building. It now serves as a ranger station, storage facility, and emergency shelter for hikers.
