After some time in the air, including a bumpy ride through the foothills, we landed on the tundra to stretch our legs. The man on the right is Walt Audi, Arctic bush pilot and proprietor of the Waldo Arms hotel. He's been flying Arctic Alaska for twenty years.

We were shocked when we stepped out of the airplane to find the temperature had soared to 75 degrees.
