Welcome to Namu. This was, at one time, the site of a fish processing plant and small community for workers. It closed in the 70s. The plant and houses remain, but there are no people. It was haunting to walk through an abandoned community. I also learned that the famous killer whale, Namu, was so named because it was accidentally caught in a fisherman's net near the town.
