INDEX / NEXT This is the kind of landscape the researchers explore. It's here that wolf samples are most easily found. Very often these sites are near fresh water streams that empty into the salt water. The wolves catch salmon from these streams in the fall. They are such habitual animals that they leave trails in the grass and the forest. We were able to follow a well worn trail along the water's edge.
