START Date: March 2002 Destination: Sanibel Island, Florida Sam and Lindsey spent a week on Sanibel Island, Florida with the entire Salerno clan. This was Sam's third visit. Lindsey has vacationed there most of her life. In fact, the relationship between the Salerno's and Sanibel Island -- specifically the Island Inn -- goes back to Lindsey's maternal grandmother. Sanibel Island is a wonderful place is it retains much of its natural character. Well over 50% of the island is protected as park, National Wildlife Refuge, or green space. The protection of the island is thanks in great part to the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation. START
